Chapter 21—Angels in the Great Hereafter
When We Get to Heaven
I saw a very great number of angels bring from the city glorious
crowns—a crown for every saint, with his name written thereon. As
Jesus called for the crowns, angels presented them to Him, and with
His own right hand the lovely Jesus placed the crowns on the heads of
the saints. In the same manner the angels brought the harps, and Jesus
presented them also to the saints. The commanding angels first struck
the note, and then every voice was raised in grateful, happy praise, and
every hand skillfully swept over the strings of the harp, sending forth
melodious music in rich and perfect strains. Then I saw Jesus lead the
redeemed company to the gate of the city. He laid hold of the gate and
swung it back on its glittering hinges, and bade the nations that had
kept the truth enter in.—

From the lips of the King of glory the benediction will fall upon
their ears like richest music, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” Thus
the redeemed will be welcomed to the mansions that Jesus is preparing

for them. There their companions will not be the vile of earth, but
those who through divine aid have formed perfect characters. Every
sinful tendency, every imperfection, has been removed by the blood of
Christ; and the excellence and brightness of His glory, far exceeding
the brightness of the sun in its meridian splendor, is imparted to them.
And the moral beauty, the perfection of His character, shines through
them, in worth far exceeding this outward splendor. They are without
fault before the great white throne, sharing the dignity and privileges
of the angels.—

The redeemed will meet and recognize those whose attention they
have directed to the uplifted Saviour. What blessed converse they have
with these souls! “I was a sinner,” it will be said, “without God and
without hope in the world, and you came to me and drew my attention
to the precious Saviour as my only hope....” Others will say, “I was a
