Chapter 4—God’s High Standard
True Education in Our Churches
[Compiled from various publications, and from manuscripts of large
circulation.]
Fitting Souls for Service
“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul.” “Blessed are
the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed
are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole

commanded us to keep Thy precepts diligently. O that my ways
were directed to keep Thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed,

a storehouse of simple eloquence.

to Jesus Christ. There must be no cheap chapters of experience
woven into our Christian life. All true experience costs every soul
that obtains it an effort, because of Satan’s temptations. God sees
how the soul hungers for the knowledge of God, for salvation through
Christ; and the promise is, “Blessed are they which do hunger and
thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
