A Great Multitude Enter the City of God, December 22

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could

number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood

before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes,

              and palms in their hands.

              Revelation 7:9

              .

Among earth’s inhabitants, scattered in every land, there are those

who have not bowed the knee to Baal. Like the stars of heaven, which

appear only at night, these faithful ones will shine forth when darkness

covers the earth and gross darkness the people. In heathen Africa, in the

Catholic lands of Europe and of South America, in China, in India, in

the islands of the sea, and in all the dark corners of the earth, God has in

reserve a firmament of chosen ones that will yet shine forth amidst the

darkness, revealing clearly to an apostate world the transforming power

of obedience to His law. Even now they are appearing in every nation,

among every tongue and people; and in the hour of deepest apostasy, when

Satan’s supreme effort is made to cause “all, both small and great, rich

and poor, free and bond,” to receive, under penalty of death, the sign of

allegiance to a false rest-day, these faithful ones, “blameless and harmless,

the sons of God, without rebuke,” will “shine as lights in the world.

Let us remember that there is a grand meeting to take place ere long.

Everlasting life is before us, and the city of God. Angels of God will be

there, and Christ will be there

The gates of the city will swing back on their glittering hinges, and

the nations that have kept the truth will enter in. A crown will be placed

on every head. The words will be spoken, “Come, ye blessed of my

Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the

world.” Whom is it prepared for?—For the obedient; those who keep His

commandments, and do His will.... As holy angels touch their harps, He

wants you to follow, singing the song of triumph in the city of God
